As a child of the 90s, I love any kind of music that resembles the poppy beats of boy band gods such as NSYNC and the Backstreet Boys. While a solo act, Yuya Matsuhita captures the charm and fun of the male vocal pop I grew up listening to in 'Trust Me,' the closing track of Durarara! In fact, if Justin Timberlake spoke Japanese, I could definitely see this as the kind of song he might sing (so get on that JT, ASAP). It is also an interesting pick for Drrr! considering how few of the characters actually trust each other completely (and Izaya is on the cover of the single-- the ultimate irony), but somehow it manages to work. When the credits started rolling, I was always ready to sing along: I really wanna be with you so trust me trust me trust me yeah!
Trusting him does not come highly recommended. Just ask Masaomi! |
