Thus far, I haven't given enough glory to instrumentals in my spotlights, so today's offering is a tune from a show with an excellent score, CLAMP's X(/1999) The Animated Series. Composed by Naoki Sato, 'Sadame,' which translates to destiny, is the show's trademark theme, and can be found in nearly every episode in either its piano or orchestral form. Bold and sweeping, 'Sadame' embraces both the epic scope of Kamui's task in combating the end of the world and the whole range of emotions involved in facing off against friends and lovers to determine the direction of a future that may or may not be inevitable.
