Since the Korean and Japanese pop and drama industries share a close link, plenty of otaku become K-pop fans somewhere along the line, but the two fanbases still have a degree of separation. However, there are some artists in particular that seem to resonate with otaku for some reason or another, and YG Entertainment's 2NE1 seems to be one for reaching a diverse group of fans. Their music videos hold a similar sass and charm to those of J-pop starlet Kyary Pamyu Pamyu, and it certainly helped that their super catchy track "Hate You" used animation technology to tell its story. But when it comes down to it, 2NE1 is simply a current and likable group with global appeal. You'll definitely find yourself loving them after giving "Hate You" a listen!
